5. Princess Nausicaa | pacifist
(Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, Hayao Miyazaki, 1984)
Why I love her: she’s courageous and so tough, but also exceedingly gentle, kind, and compassionate. She’s a born leader who fights for peace. All of the ladies on this list are close to my heart, but Nausicaa really does inspire me to be a better person. I see a bit of myself in her, though I’m not as much of a sweetheart as she is. She makes me wish I was.
